These 3 panels may have formed an alter or tomb. I have dated to 16th C based on St. Anthony holding the child Christ. The figures show the crucifixion of Jesus surround by apostles. The St. Francis, St. Clare and St. Anthony all have connections with the Franciscan order, while St. Dominic is the founder of the Dominican order. It is interesting that these saints received their own panels while the apostles are doubled up. The decoration above each niche is damaged but may have additional symbolism for each saint. This series of three panels is decorated with Saints Clare, Anthony, Bartholomew, Mathias, Simon, Matthew, Francis, Michael, Dominick, Andrew, James the Great, John, Jude, Mary and Mary Magdalene on either side of the crucifixion, James the Lesser, Philip, Peter and Paul
